Steve Khinoy
 Head Coach

Steve has coached fencing for over 50 years at the club, high school and college levels, founding successful fencing programs at three high schools and a college in addition to the SIFC. His students have included a US Fencing Association National Champion, an NCAA All-American, a PSAL individual champion, and an NCAA conference individual silver medalist. The 2010 MSIT boys' foil team were PSAL Champions. At least three of his students have gone on to become coaches. Steve is also the publisher of SwordPlay Books. He has been chairman of the Metro-NY Division of the US Fencing Association and a member of the USFA Board of Directors. He is a co-founder and active member of the US Fencing Hall of Fame. Steve is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A.) and Johns Hopkins University (Ph.D.)

Ekrem Klobocista, Foil Coach

Ekrem was an outstanding fencer for Tottenville High School and has become an insightful and innovative coach through years of assistant coaching at Tottenville and intensive study of fencing. 

Yuna Shaughnessy,  Youth Coach

Yuna captained the Staten Island Tech Fencing team. She majored in Early Childhood at Vassar College and has supervised day care programs in New York City. She is compassionate, firm, and fun-loving in her approach to children and studies constantly to ensure that her fencing instruciion and the psychosocial development of the children go hand in hand.
